Action Mechanism

Generic Selegiline belongs to the group of medicinal drugs known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). This group of antidepressant drugs blocks the activity of monoamine oxidase in the brain and therefore allows monoamines to pile up. Generic Selegiline functions by sustaining the anti-Parkinson action of Levodopa, which may facilitate retarding the advance of Parkinson's disease. The drug features no anti-Parkinson impacts of its own and should always be administered in association with Levodopa/Carbidopa.

Drug Indications

Generic Selegiline is indicated as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment and management of Parkinson's patients being cared for with Levodopa/Carbidopa who demonstrate impairment in the quality of their reaction to this therapy. There is no testimony from controlled researches  that Selegiline boasts any favorable results in the nonexistence of concomitant Levodopa remedy.
